Why? なぜなの？

It seems to me that in life you'll always want what you can't have and what you don't want will inevitably come to you. Is it because the grass always seems greener on the other side? Or is it because it's part of human nature to always want something better; to reach higher?

I can never be satisfied with what I have it seems, be it something in material form or something intangible. The result is utter disappointment or disgust with myself when I can't attain what I set out to achieve. Or maybe I just set my sights a bit too high?

The year is 2007! That means I'll be 20 this year! No more '1' in front! Wow... I feel old. Haha...

But on a more serious tone though, what does it mean to grow up? Does that only mean to grow physically? A little while back it always meant being independent of my parents, earning my own living and having a family of my own. However, I've come to realise it is not at all as straight-forward as that.

Each year our "age" increases by 1 and that's definitely not all to it. Each "1" is more significant than we think, cos that 1 equates to 365 days; 8,760 hours; 525,600 minutes; or 31,536,000 seconds! Each and every second we breathe; we see, smell, touch and taste, and each action on its own is significant. With each passing second, our actions become a part of our past and can never be taken back again, but collectively what we are left with is thing called 'experience'.

Experience, smexperience... no big deal, right? Wrong. Experience serves as a reference to us, so that we may better decide on the actions we take. As a most basic example, a child who accidentally touches a kettle of hot water will know not to touch a hot kettle in future. Another example which we might better relate to is if we happen to say something which hurt another person, we know better not to say it in future. We can safely conclude that experience = knowing right from wrong. I suppose that is why employers value employees with experience so much.

The reason I'm writing this is because this year my sister has come over for college. The many things that she had taken for granted and had never done at home she is now forced to do out of necessity. I was just thinking about how she is going through the experiences I had gone through many years ago only now. It goes to show that everyone experiences almost the same things at different points of their lives, but the crux of it is not when the experience is had, but that they have the experience at all.

Added up these experiences help us along the journey to adulthood. i.e. growing up. This essentially what growing up is all about. To me this means to care more for others and act sensibly, because as with each second gone, the things we say and do can never be taken back.

This brings me to my resolutions for this year:

振り向かずに、前向けに進むこと。
悔いを残さないように生きること。
もっとしっかりすること。
もっと責任感を持つこと。
他人を頼らず、自分の力で生きること。
他の人に迷惑をかからないこと。
周りの人々を大事にすること。
勉強で一所懸命こと。
自分だけの夢を見つかること、そしてその夢に向かって頑張ること。
友達をもっとできること。
大学活動をもっと参加すること。
日本語はもっと上達こと。
両親が自慢できるいい大人になること。
マキさんのようないい女になること。
もっと痩せること。
もっとキレイになること。
それで、いい蹴れ市を見つけられること。

神様、どうか今年も私を見守って、すべてをよく行きますように。

At 20 my journey towards adulthood has not ended, it has only begun. At this point the future still looks unclear to me but from this moment on I shall strive so that the 'me' of each second will be better than the last. I will not say goodbye to the 'me' of 2006, but rather to the 'me' of the second before.

Exams suck BIG TIME... at least I'm halfway done... only Engineering Structures and Computing left... Ganbare! ファイト〜！

Last weekend was Northbridge Festival! Missed it last year but went last Saturday cos See Mee so kindly invited me, even though my first paper was on Monday!! But I have to say it was the most fun I've had in ages! My fave by far was the pole-dancing show, it was hot! I wish I could do that... =P Testing out the new photobucket browser thingy...

Had an awesome time today too. Managed to do my laundry and clean my room before 11:00am and went for lunch at HK BBQ with Jenny and Julian. Bumped into Adeline at Northbridge; haven't seen that girl in ages! Got ALL the grocery shopping today! The butcher, oriental shops, Subi market and Woolies! Went to the Japon shop... I WANT A YUKATA!!! *cries* I'll be back for it!! Lol... Subi sure has a lot of stuff... gonna make sure I shop there once exams are over. Gosh, I must have spent almost $100 on groceries alone today >_< here. My personal fave song from her is Precious and PV is Stuck on you.

Again, I'm gonna start the post by saying it's been more than 2 weeks since my last post. =P

So much has happened since my last post I really don't know where to begin... trying to recall the chronological order... nvm, gonna just gonna forget about the order... lol

Sem 2 has ended! I can't believe it! My 1st year at uni is gonna be over!! Wow... time flies so fast it's scary... Now all that's left is the exams... been trying to study and that's why I've been trying to abstain from blogging... but finally had to give in to the itch... lol...

On the last day of uni, I went out with Sarah after work... and it was crazy! We went from Maya Masala to Formosa to Fast Eddy's! We seemed to keep talking and talking... And I didn't get home till 1 something... which is quite crazy cos I just went to uni then spent the whole day at work... I wonder where I get the energy from... xD 自分が言うなよ！Lol...

Oh yeah... it was Susan's birthday on the 19th I think... and we went to Fast Eddy's (again) for her dinner celebration... Was kinda last minute but it turned out perfect! バッチリだった！And we took tons of photos.....

Last Sunday there was a boat festival going on at East Perth! Decided to go, since Reen was working there and it was a good excuse for me to get out of the house! There were a lot of food, music, people...... and FLIES!!! Haha.... it was really fun if not for the heat and the flies. Check out the fruit crush sticks.... Yummilicious...

That night we got take-away sushi from Matsuri... unagi roll and spicy roll.... which were both really good!! But kinda expensive too... but what to do.. it's nice food...

Sometime last week while I was chatting with the Tachibananas there were fireworks!!! HANABI~~~!!! *_* I took too many photos so only selected a few to upload...

I haven't chatted with the Tachibananas in a long time... but we went crazy spamming the hideout! xD I wonder if the admins will close down the hideout xD 1044 posts??? That's MAD... but congrats!!! I finally did something with my phone.... changed the wallpaper and ringtones and also downloaded Puzzle Bobble!! xD It's quite addictive too! Only reached level 19 I think. ^_^;;

And speaking of games.... there's a Dragonzakura game online!!! It tests ur kanji skills... basically a kanji flash card game... this again is quite addictive cos I kept retrying until I got rank A. Or maybe I'm just obstinate. LMAO... PLAY!

And FINALLY.... some shameless plugging... I've finished my RITSUKA X SOUBI pic... and am quite damn proud of it too!! Experimented a lot with the tablet... Wow... It's been almost 2 weeks since my last post!! Hmm... been too busy with assignments... *sigh* I feel so anti-social again... studying and dieting is the way to go if u wanna ruin your social life...

Gotta rack my brain to recall what has happened in the span of these 2 weeks. All I can recall is that I've been rushing assignments... staying till late in uni... and the walk to the car bugged me out... But at least I finally managed to finish the assignments...

Oh yeah! Mooncake festival!! Was kinda sad, since I didn't actually EAT any mooncake! Haha... I actually played with the lanterns in MY ROOM all alone... 情けないな...But I must have been nuts to play with fire in my room! 危険なマネをすんじゃない！Anyways, some nice pics!

Hmm was the day that Chibi's problems started as well... *sigh* What can I say? Lodgians.... no wonder we give outsiders such a bad impression. 気にすんな、チビ。ネちゃんがいつまでもそばにいてあげるから。絶対に守ってやるね。来年をとてもお楽しみで〜すう！あの組の連中は放っとけばいい。

Oh yeah, it was ZX's father's birthday last Friday and we celebrated for him on Wednesday at his house. It was quite the spread too... I spent almost an hour hunting for a cake after business hours too... Hehe... A pic...

I entered the UEC Logo Design Comp! First prize is $350! Hoping to make a quick buck there... Hehe... Runner-up will do too... $50... Money is money. =P

Went to Borders today... I LOVE going there... but I dropped my cup of Mocha!!! *cries* Dunno what's wrong with me today... I keep dropping stuff! Even the chair during my ENDP meeting... how embarassing... 恥ずかしいな... I ended up buying 3 books: a cheesecake recipe book, Japanese design book and the latest Artemis Fowl installment, with vouchers of course. xD Speaking of good buys, I finally bought the cardigan from Sportsgirl! It was originally $30 and I got it for $14!!! Score~!!! ^_^

Uwah... getting late... better go to sleep now... don't wanna miss class! >_<

Feel like ranting... =_=

Almost 2 weeks and I'm still not fully recovered. Gah. It's no wonder too...

Today has to be the longest day of uni ever! I arrived at uni at 7 plus and only left 12 hours later! I must have covered the entire area of the uni at least 4 times today... in heels no less (again!). When will I learn?? 本当にバカだ！

Today has been all group meetings and working on assignments and I didn't even have a chance to eat anything till 4:00pm. And I still have a long way to go with assignments! *sigh* Felt so sick by the end of it that during the Spring Feast I didn't have any appetite to eat anything... Invited Yumi to the Spring Feast... Hope that at least she had fun. I mean it was fun meeting all my friends there but I just wasn't into it... no energy left in me. There were lots of stalls though and quite a lot of interesting things. The JAPSSOC stall kinda disappointed me though, only yakisoba and miso soup! There was a stall in front that did a lot better than that. >_< Bought some food for Julian & Reen though. Visited Yumi's place for the first time. The area was kinda scary, but at least her room looked cosy. After that was Johnson's place. Gave Julian the food and I had soup for dinner there. Finally, I made my way slowly home...やっと。

On a happier note... I went to see the Sub Dean today and she APPROVED my application for a Diploma in Modern Languages! I can finally continue my Jap!!! WAHAHAHA~!! *is over the moon* BUT WAIT! I gotta wait for them to actually OFFER me a place first... too soon to be happy. *prays hard* It was quite a bit of effort but if I get it in the end it will all be worth it! Mwehehe... ^_^ *ニコニコ*

Hey hey~! O-hisashiburi~!! 久しブリブリ！

Been a week since my last post cos I was too sick & stressed the whole week... Luckily I'm almost recovered now...

Been given another assignment this week, so that makes a grand total of 3 large assignments due this month now. >_< 死ぬ... Exam timetables are out too... and mine sucks... a lot. I have a week in between papers!!! I'll be too restless by then!!! But that means I won't be able to update much from now...

Created an account at Video Ezy and rented a couple of movies. I got She's The Man and it's great! It was hilarious! I really enjoyed it except for the million times that we had to eject and replay the thing cos the stupid DVD player was acting up again...

Went to Perth Royal Show yesterday with Yumi, Ros, Khai, Ying & her sis! This year's guest nation is Japan!!! Woohoo~ It didn't really turn out the way I hoped it would but we managed to have fun anyways... I won a dice too~~ We went to the Japan Pavillion and at lunch there! 美味しい〜！Basically covered the whole showgrounds cos we spent 8 hours there!! And I was stupid enough to wear heels too! >_< What was I thinking??! I'm too tired to put up pics now and the internet is really slow today... next post maybe.

Found a new shounen-ai anime: Angels Feather

It's a 2-chapter OVA, and the story's a bit confusing all round but it all clears up at the end. But that aside I like the art a lot and I like the seiyuu's voices, some familiar ones like Hikaru Midorikawa (as Rukawa Kaede Slam Dunk), Tatsuha Uesugi Gravitation), Kappei Yamaguchi (as Ryuichi Sakuma Gravitation), Hideo Ishikawa (as Auron FFX, Squall KHI&II) and Kazuhiko Inoue (as Kakashi Hatake Naruto, Yuki Eiri Gravitation, Tachibana no Tomomasa Harukanaru toki no naka de ~Hachiyoshou~). I needed some fresh shounen-ai anime anyways. From what I gather it's based on a game... but 2 episodes is too short! What happened after that????

ヤバイ。I actually woke up at 8:00am today instead of the usual 7:00am! And my class starts at 9:00am! Thank goodness for the car but I had to skip breakfast.

Uni was a drag today cos of the crappy weather. Had to keep getting in the rain during the transition between classes cos I was stupid enough to believe that the weather wouldn't betray me today. How wrong I was.

Planned to go to the city after class but was held back for an hour due to the calculus assignment. I reckon the tutor wasn't much help cos I couldn't get what he was trying to say! >_<

The weather hadn't improved by the time I got home so decided to stay at home... and do laundry, do vacuuming and washing the *ugh* filthy balcony. My hands are so dry now.. T_T *slops on handcream*

Didn't get much work done like I planned otherwise. Come to think of it, what was I doing? Oh yea, watching Ya-Ya-yah and Honjyani! Watching Honjyani made me feel like playing bowling!! Haven't done so in ages! I'm crap at it for sure...

I've booked my tix to Melbourne~~! Only 2 months left! I shall count the days... 67 days! >_< Looking forward to see うさぎ and Gabe! お楽しみだ〜！\(^0^)/

Speaking of which, I've got my pay today!!! $$$$$ Mwehehehe! $$$$$ 超うれしい！That's the most I've gotten in a fortnight so far!! My next pay is gonna be even higher! Hahaha.... *cos we are living in a material world and I am a material girl*

Watched Taiyou no Uta a second time yesterday and even so I still shed tears! I still think it's a great movie! I actually found a clip of the ending of the movie, it's actually Good-bye days playing, only without the talking bit. But it would be a spoiler though if you wanna watch the movie.

I wanna play the song on my guitar!! I SO wish I had my guitar now. In my search for the tabs I found a pretty good YUI forum. And the tabs for the song!!

There are some mistakes in the lyrics though.

I wanna introduce another one of my favourite artists: 星村麻衣(Hoshimura Mai). She's awesome on the piano and a wonderful singer too and writes her own lyrics as well! This performance is of Merry Go Round, the 5th ending theme of the anime Yakitate!! Japan. Watch it and see for yourself!

Was watching this movie the night before and was such a good movie! Gotta share this with everyone! Was very sad though. とってもいい映画だった！感動した！涙が止まられなかった！

It stars YUI and 塚本高史 (Tsukamoto Takashi)! かっこ良かった！少しバカだったけどね。

The story tells about Kaoru Amane, 16, who doesn't go to school and can only come out at night because of a disease she has called Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP). Having this disease means that even the slightest exposure to sunlight could lead to her death. So she fills her lonely days by playing her guitar and composing songs (in which she is extremely talented), then playing them in front of the train station, hoping to expose her talent. Her life begins to change when she finally introduces herself to Kouji Fujishiro, the guy who she'd been watching from her window for a long time now...

I'm gonna share the PV and mp3 of the theme song "Good-bye days", which was sung by YUI of course. I love this song sooo much and it has been on repeat since Monday. Lol. YUI's acting's pretty good in the movie too. The PV shows scenes from the movie as well so you can have an idea of what the movie's like.

After a long day at work and with the second half of the semester starting tomorrow what do I do? Got me thinking about what I'm heading towards in this life. So, I made a list of top 10 things I wanna do in this lifetime.

Travel around the world, preferably with my family.

Own my own yacht or luxury boat, so that I can fulfill no.1. Not as fond of planes.

Have my own mansion complete with a pool, gym, multipurpose court, and a large, and I mean HUGE compound, so that I can have horses and plenty of space for my dogs to run. Think large dining halls and function rooms etc. A mini golf-course wouldn't be half bad, then I could play golf with Dad or something. Oh, let's not forget a music room complete with a grand piano too.

Open up a café or a chain of them, where people can chill and just have a good time. Like somewhere for people to escape, if just for a few hours, from their hectic daily lives. Think Tokyo. Elegant yet not a formal and stiff environment. Could probably even sell my brownies there. =P

Have a big-ass grand wedding. Think Victoria & David Beckham. Every girl is allowed to have her dream wedding right?

Own one of those cool sports cars. Dunno which will be my fave by the time I can afford one.

Start my own web-designing/graphic-designing company. Always wanted to do graphic designing, but for realistic reasons had to put those all aside.

Make a statement in the engineering world by building some awe-inspiring landmarks, like 'The Eye' in London.

Go to Johnny's concerts! At least one from each of the groups I like better. At the annual Countdown is a must!

Go for a student exchange or stay at least 6 months in Japan.

Obviously these are all pretty big dreams and all require tons of $$$. So, what to do but study my ass off. I've never put these all down in words till today. Maybe I was hoping that by doing so I'd be able to form my resolve and start working extra hard at studies and work ie., gotta save more money and increase my knowledge. These are really all not that far out of reach if I think about it objectively.

Yaho~!やほ！

Found a new restaurant yesterday! It's called Little Seoul and it's on East Hay St, one block in front of Miss Maud. It serves both Korean and Jap food, but mainly Korean. I had the spicy squid which was yummy! Too bad I didn't bring a camera. We were actually planning to go to '純'(jun) to try out the '串焼き'(kushi-yaki) but it wasn't open!!

We also discovered a little Korean supermarket nearby, and I got a walnut-flavoured chewy!

I know I keep saying that I should be on a 'budget-constraint' but I couldn't resist when I tried on this white summer-dress at Just Jeans! It's a new piece that just came in that's not put on display yet! *ニコニコ*

Oh yea, this is the set of tops that Reen got me that I mentioned before.

Yumi-chan came over last night and stayed the night. For dinner I made okonomiyaki and takoyaki and for dessert, carrot cake!! Lol.

BEWARE. FANDOM IN THIS POST PREDICTED

Firstly, a piece of advice. Do constant cleaning; as in do not wait 2 months till u finally decide to clean out your room and the toilet. It's dead tiring.

Secondly, do NOT attempt to do so after u have been to the gym after work the day before, especially if u attended the Ab Blast class after 2 months. Chances are it will kill u.

This is exactly what I did today= not pleasant. I even managed some laundry... AND gym again.

『こんにちは

ボクの育った家は子供の頃から常に音楽が流れていました。
アース･ウインド＆ファイアーなど80年代のディスコミュージックから山下達郎さんを始めとするJポップまでたくさんの音楽を聴いて育ちました。またテレビの歌番組も大好きだったので、放送の翌日は校庭にある朝礼台がボクのステージだった。

“子供の頃から歌うことが大好きだったし、今も大好きです”

東京に出てきて6年がアッという間に過ぎ、満足のいく音楽活動が出来ています。
メンバーや周りのスタッフ、そしてファンのみんなには、こんなに恵まれた環境にいられる事をすごくすごく感謝しています。
ボクは、歌うことだけじゃなく、ギターやピアノを弾くことも大好きだし、物づくりに関わりたいと以前から思っていました。
今回、表現者（パフォーマー）としてだけでなく創造者（クリエイター）として、ソロワークに挑戦させてもらうことになりました。
ボクが好きなものや大切にしてきたものを、みなさんにストレートに伝えたいと思っているし、受け止めてくれると信じています。
もちろんグループとしての活動もボクにとっては、幹となるとても大切なものなので、ソロワークと平行して活動します。

今までとは、違った形でみなさんに逢えることをとても楽しみにしています。

Basically he tells about how he grew up in a very musical environment and that he was given the chance to go solo to convey to the fans everything he treasures. He's gonna work on the solo project alongside group activites.

His debut single, 道標 (michishirube=sign-post) will be released on 18/10/06! Lyrics are by Keita himself, the music by T2ya and the arrangement by Koma2 Kazz so this sounds really promising!! Can't wait!!! I'm sooo grabbing the first press! (if I have the money that is >_<)　これからもずっと応援しますから、ガンバレ慶ちゃん！

I love AAA (read as Triple A btw) more and more since the release of "Let it beat!" and "Q". "Let it beat!" is really upbeat and reminds me of "Blood on Fire" and "Q" is just tooo cute!! And Shinjiro Atae is just getting more and more kakkoii as well! Nvm that he's my 年下, age doesn't matter!! You MUST check out the PVs!!!

OMG! It's been 2 months since I last posted!!! なんてことだ！So I finally get around to doing it during my so-called "study break", and as u can see the layout has FINALLY been fixed.

As always on a free day, I spent my day in the city. Met up with Charlene for lunch at Taka. Had my first normal meal in days. あんなにガンバッタのになぜ痩せられないの？!(≥-≤)ムカつく！So I tried the new mango-flavoured Lipton Green Tea. Wasn't all that great, I still prefer the peach flavoured one. I can't say I'd drink it a second time.

Taka seems to be a mecca of sorts during the lunch hour; I met Joanna (who I haven't had a decent conversation with in ages) then Elvina & Co. within the span of half an hour or less. Lunch was supposed to be short but eventually it dragged on as we waited for Johnson & Reen to arrive.

Following lunch was bubble tea, which didn't turn out too pleasant for Charlene, cos I think the person making the tea couldn't seem to read my scrawl of what was supposed to be "S" for sago and was somehow intepreted as an "R" My bad... ごめんね！(#=_=#)

John Tucker Must Die was killer! It's a typical chick flick about 3 girls who dated the same guy at the same time and with the help of a fourth girl try to get back at him. I know it's a chick flick, but it's got some really hilarious plots in it (like the oestrogen pills!). Go watch it, and be sure to drag someone with u!

I swear I should stop going to the city, or shopping for that matter! Everytime I go out, the things on my wishlist grows... at an alarming rate too! Like the cute cardigan at Sportsgirl or the summer-dress at Myer! My purse simply can't keep up (since I need my J-supplements too! xD)

After months of procrastinating, Abby has finally decided to revive her blog again! (after her previous one got deleted by Blogspot... of all the atrocities!!)

Decided to do this since I've recently discovered that I have absolutely nothing left to do online besides downloading stuff. I hardly think that anyone would like to read my dronings about my dreary daily ongoings, although I hope there are actually people out there who want to. *dry laugh*

I NEED TO EXERCISE MY ENGLISH MORE! My English seems to have been left to collect dust since I started uni since engineering is calculations, calculations and more calculations... also, I mainly speak Mandarin with the ppl I hang out with...it's either I'm going senile or my English is failing me. *dies*

Also... I've recently started doing CG again... so I might actually complete my half-done pieces, now that I've gotten the tablet back... (even though my sis has probably left a trail of dust before me already) and so what better place for shameless plugging than a blog??!!! This is hour no. 2 in the Maths Comp Lab (MCL) and there's STILL half an hour to go before the bloody Intro to Professional Engineering (IPE) tutorial... have to take the damned English Language Competance Assessment test later... can't I just do it now for goodness' sake??? >_<

*sighs* I'll probably work on sprucing up the blog when I get back, if I have the time. It's sooo barren you could probably grow cacti on it.... ok exaggerating... so envious of all the ppl with schnazzy blogs and all the thingamajigs...

I need more coffee....
